What does STG Pacific do

Established in 2016 STG Pacific LLC provides vertical horizontal design build heavy industrial and specialty foundation construction services to government and commercial entities. STG Pacific draws on more than 100 years of combined staff experience to deliver on time on budget high quality construction for the most complex projects in the industry.

What can you expect

As the Project Manager you will work onsite in Fairbanks AK and will be responsible for the overall planning execution coordination and financial oversight of multiple complex construction projects. Projects include both design/build and design-bid-build for Federal clients. This role requires a strong leader who can deliver projects on time within budget safely and in strict compliance with contract requirements design specifications and client expectations. You will also support STG Pacifics strategic growth efforts by helping to establish and scale operations in new markets. Additionally you may serve as a resource and mentor to other project management team members and support staff. During the companys startup and expansion phase you will be expected to take on multiple roles as needed to support successful project delivery and organizational growth.

How will you do it

  • Coordinate all awarded project aspects including estimating bidding reporting client interface timeline and day-to-day oversight.
  • Develop proposals cost estimates and bids.
  • Utilize Design Build Coordination and Design Management skills to assure compliance and on-budget designs.
  • Staff jobs with qualified candidates for the type of work and client requirements.
  • Manage the submittal and approval process; prepare change requests.
  • Monitor/review plans reports permits requests for information and design change/variance requests.
  • Procure and schedule necessary materials and resources such as equipment team members and subcontractors to include:
    • Determine labor requirements.
    • Select hire and oversee the work done by the subcontractors.
    • Determine the best source of construction materials.
    • Oversee the delivery of materials tools and equipment.
    • Ensure resources are used efficiently and effectively.
    • Obtain necessary licenses or permits.
  • Supervise the planning of design and/or construction work; ensure the accuracy of the project teams analysis of project drawings specifications project schedule environmental requirements and quality expectations.
  • Analyze project profitability revenue and margins.
  • Prepare project budget and track time and expenses against the budget.
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients.
  • Code and determine payment of all project-related invoices and timesheets.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports outlining materials used costs and work schedule adjustments.
  • Oversee the documentation and retention of information related to project start-up commissioning contracts completion reports as-built documentation and project closeout.
  • Oversee progress at work sites; may require multi-day visits and/or overnight stay.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable municipal state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure job-required reporting is received and thorough to include safety reports daily updates photographs timecards etc.
  • Ensure project milestones are completed on schedule.
  • Ensure that projects are executed safely according to contract specifications.
  • Actively support STG Pacifics Health and Safety Program.
  • Stay appraised of on-site compliance and safety audits; suspend or modify work practices as necessary.
  • Work closely with company Safety personnel to settle health and safety differences of opinion if the Site Foreman/SSHO cannot find a resolution.
  • Verify that all safety equipment needed for the project is provided and used.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees to express health and safety concerns.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered with quality according to contract specifications.
  • Work with the Site Superintendent and Site Quality Manager to ensure work is performed and installed to meet contract requirements.
  • Provide necessary support for the Quality Control staff including equipment and personnel required to support the quality work.
  • Work as a team player with co-workers in a respectful and supportive manner.
  • Direct the work of and oversee Project Coordinators on the completion of project support tasks.
  • Seek and participate in development and training opportunities.
  • Participate in periodic management meetings.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises the work of project staff support staff and administrative staff design teams and key team subcontractors.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of construction project management principles including scheduling budgeting procurement and compliance.
  • Deep understanding of design-build processes contract requirements and change order procedures.
  • Familiarity with municipal state and federal construction regulations and permitting processes.
  • Technical knowledge of various field construction concepts practices and procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of construction architectural and building industry standard operating practices/procedures.
  • Proven experience managing projects under government contracts and/or in the public sector.
  • Ability to prepare accurate budgets and cost estimates; in-depth knowledge of fiscal management principles and procedures.
  • Ability to create read and understand complex contract documents.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Project Excel Word Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Skill in organizing resources establishing priorities meeting deadlines and managing time.
  • Ability to gather data compile information and prepare reports.
  • Effective professional communication and interpersonal skills concerning:
    • Internal and external written graphical and verbal communications.
    • Presentations.
    • Negotiation.
    • Working with other departments and personnel to accomplish STG Pacifics objectives.
  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic; ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills including hiring supervising and coordinating with subcontractors and project staff.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with customers and organizations; exceptional follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work productively under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical and forecasting skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions.
  • Ability to actively listen and provide high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to do business ethically with customers vendors and co-workers.
  • Ability to travel for work-related purposes (up to 50%).
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations detect unobvious facts and issues and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.
  • Ability to collaborate partner and exercise change management skills.
  • Knowledge of basic revenue models project ledger and cost-to-completion projections.
  • Ability to comply with and enforce standard policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications preferred.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.

Who is STG Pacific looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Twenty (20) or more years related business and management experience including budget preparation cost estimating and fiscal management principles and procedures.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Valid state drivers license and must be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of STG Pacifics Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a drug driving record and background screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Engineering or Construction Management is strongly preferred but may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for related project management experience.
  • Design-Build experience preferred.
  • Project Management Professional certification encouraged.
  • Prior experience at a project level with USACE or other federal clients is preferred.

Working Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. STG Pacific has a fast-paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. At times work is performed outside of the office at indoor and outdoor job sites. Adaptability regarding schedule and design changes and occasional overtime for immediate field support or bid processing may be necessary.
