The School
The role is within our School of AppliedSciences and Technology. The departments within the School are located on our Grande Prairie campus and our Fairview campus. The School offers a variety of programminginFine Arts Humanities and SocialSciencesSciences and Animal Health Technology. Through this programmingwe offer a variety of certificates diplomas university transfer coursesas well as a degree in computingscience.
The Role
The Humanities and SocialSciences Department requires aPhilosophyInstructor to teach the following coursesin Fall 2025.
- PH1010 Introduction to Philosophy
- PH1250 Practical Logic
- PH3330 Professional Ethics (2 sections)
Course descriptions are available at delivery is on-campus in Grande Prairie with simultaneously remote instruction over Zoom.
This part-time sessional position will commence on August 15 2025. This is a leave replacement.

Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
A PhD inPhilosophyis required. Evidence of successful instruction of undergraduate courses inphilosophyis an asset. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles;
Knowledge of current educational technologies (e.g. videoconferencing learning management systems) is desired;
Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions 94 Calls to Action;
The ability to teach both online and classroom-based courses;
Student-focused;
Strong organizational skills;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
A high level of integrity professionalism and accountability.
