About the Role
The CSSD Sterilizing Technician ensures sterile supplies are provided to the operating room in line with standards. Key duties include cleaning documenting preparing checking and packaging reusable medical equipment under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager or CSSD Coordinator.
Position Objectives:
The CSSD Sterilizing Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient reprocessing of reusable medical instruments in line with AS/NZS 5369 standards. Core tasks include:
About You
You will need to hold the following accreditation skills and working rights:
Completion of an accredited Cert III or higher sterilising technician course or equivalent training
Knowledge and skills in sterilisation technology and instrument processing.
Able to perform physically demanding tasks
Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate ability to work independently and with supervision as required.
Desirable
Knowledge of current legislation and best practices regarding patient safety and surgical protocols.
Minimum 12 months previous experience as a theatre technician in relevant specialities.
Pre-employment Validations
Verification of eligibility to work in Australia.
Identification check validation.
Police check clearance.
Working with Children (WWC) check.
