Job Description
The University of Utahs Clinical and Translational Science Institute ( CTSI ) is seeking an Integration and Process Engineer to support the design integration and optimization of operational workflows across CTSI service units. This role will focus on aligning project registration effort tracking invoicing and reporting systems to improve efficiency reduce redundancy and enhance operational value. This position will serve as a strategic liaison between the BMICs technical team and the CTSIs administrative leadership supporting long-term business process integration and change management initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in process engineering software implementation and operational systems integration in a research or academic setting. About CTSI The Clinical and Translational Science Institute ( CTSI ) at the University of Utah serves as the academic home for clinical and translational research. It supports investigators through four foundational pillars: Cores and Services Education and Training Clinical Research Support and Administration. The CTSI is nationally recognized for its leadership in research innovation collaboration and infrastructure development. Learn more: Product Responsibilities Project Registration & Cores Integration Lead the integration of CTSI project registration workflows with other systems. Document current-state processes and design future-state workflows to streamline intake and service discovery. Support the implementation of a unified project registration interface for investigators and service providers. Invoicing & Effort Tracking Optimization Engineer and implement standardized invoicing and effort tracking processes across CTSI Service Recharge Centers (SRCs) and other shared core activities. Collaborate with core directors and administrative staff to align financial tracking with service delivery. Ensure data consistency and reduce duplication through centralized data models. Project Management & Scheduling Integration Integrate project management tools with scheduling and resource allocation systems. Enable SRCs to forecast capacity and utilization based on real-time project data. Support automation of task assignments and service fulfillment tracking. Reporting & Data Integration Develop integrated reporting solutions to support CTSI leadership investigators and service providers. Facilitate data integration with institutional systems (e.g. IRB funding databases directory services core facility systems). Support long-term goals of capacity planning utilization analysis and strategic decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelors degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
