Role Overview
As the Project Performance & Controls Manager you will lead the integrated planning risk cost and resource control functions across complex high-impact projects. This role ensures structured delivery performance tracking and governance excellence across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of integrated master project schedules across all workstreams using MS Project Smart Sheets or equivalent tools.
- Drive structured project planning processes including baseline development progress measurement and change control.
- Ensure alignment between the project schedule and resource/cost plans to maintain execution integrity.
- Risk Cost & Resource Management
- Optimize resource allocation and utilization based on project needs risks and shifting priorities.
- Identify assess and maintain a centralized log of project risks assumptions issues and dependencies (RAID).
- Develop risk mitigation plans and proactively monitor risk triggers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure resource optimization and reallocation strategies based on real-time project risks and priorities.
- Establish and track key project performance indicators (KPIs) across schedule cost scope and quality.
- Develop and deliver executive dashboards and reporting packs for senior leadership and the Steering Committee.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve project delivery outcomes and enhance decision-making.
- Ensure that all project activities adhere to internal governance frameworks regulatory compliance standards and quality assurance protocols.
- Serve as the custodian of structured delivery discipline and change control processes.
- Collaborate with internal auditors or external advisors as needed to support transparency and compliance reviews.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination across engineering finance procurement operations and other functions.
- Support and mentor project controls professionals fostering a high-performanceresults-oriented culture.
- Partner with consulting or strategic advisory teams where applicable to align performance frameworks with business strategy.
- Engage with the Steering Committee by presenting structured insights risk profiles
- and governance updates.
Job Requirements
- PMP Certification (mandatory).
- 7 10 years of hands-on experience in project controls planning and performance management in multi-sector environments.
- Proven track record of delivery in industries such as construction energy oil & gasFMCG commodities manufacturing or agriculture.
- Consulting experience (e.g. working with Big 4 strategy firms or performance advisory projects) is a strong advantage
- Advanced proficiency in project control tools such as MS Project Smart Sheets and cost/resource management tools.
