Job Description

Accounting Analyst (Compensation & Sales)

Exciting opportunity in the insurance industry for a detail-oriented finance professional! This hybrid role (Toronto or Waterloo 3 days on-site) focuses on compensation reporting Power BI dashboards and sales analysis. Contract runs to January 2027 with potential for extension or permanent hire.

What is in it for you:

Salaried: $45-56 per hour.
Incorporated Business Rate: $56-67 per hour.
18-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
Core hours are 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM you must be available during this period each day. Outside of core hours there is flexibility. Typical start times include 8:00 AM 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM.
Location: Hybrid (Toronto or Waterloo office).
Hybrid work: in-office Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:

Supervise payments and bonus validation for sales staff ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Streamline and automate operational processes to enhance productivity.
Assist in developing risk and control strategies.
Monitor progress of system development and enhancement.
Support risk and compliance reporting activities.
Deliver and present monthly sales forecasts to business leaders with clear analysis and commentary.
Handle unexpected issues and prioritize work effectively to deliver solutions.
Foster innovation encourage high-performance teamwork and support continuous improvement.

What you will need to succeed:

University degree in business finance or equivalent.
Accounting designation (CA CMA CGA CPA) and/or CFA.
3 years of relevant progressive accounting experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate negotiate and influence effectively.
Self-starter with sound judgment problem-solving and analytical skills.
Results-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
Strong business acumen; able to convey complex concepts clearly in writing and verbally.
Excellent customer focus with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to learn new applications quickly.
Power BI and database knowledge would be an asset.
