You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Vermont Department of Public Safety (DPS) has an opening for an Accounting & Audit Analyst. You will perform training and financial monitoring to assist our state and federal grant recipients. Duties will include reviews of report submissions and single audit requirements and may include internal auditing activities. Candidates should have strong analytical and communication skills be able to work independently and as a team and the ability to work on multiple activities. This position requires considerable research and review of program and financial compliance standards.
This is a limited service position with the DPS Finance section. The selected candidate will be responsible for independently conducting and completing all audit assignments and presenting to the Audit Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Microsoft excel have excellent communication and analytical skills and be capable of working independently with minor supervision. The starting rate for this position will include a 15% market factor adjustment. A hybrid telework schedule may be considered but in-person work will be required.
This positionPublic Safety Accounting & Audit Analyst (#52613) is open to all State employees and external is a Limited Service position which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

PUBLIC SAFETY BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position to include Motor Vehicle/Criminal Records Personal History Credit and any additional background check(s).
Duties may be performed in a standard office setting or by working remotely. Audits are performed using Microsoft Office Teams or at the subgrantee location. Occasionally overtime work may be required.
Bachelors degree or higher in accounting finance or related field AND one (1) or more years of experience in accounting auditing or financial management.
OR
Two (2) or more years of experience auditing financial information.
Bachelors degree or higher.
