General Description: Saint Marys Catholic High School Arizonas oldest Catholic school is
seeking an Assistant Athletic Director to begin for the 2025-2026 school year. The preferred candidate should have a passion for Catholic education and the formation of young men and women in virtue through athletics. Candidate must be a team player and adept at working with students and candidate should be highly organized communicative and mission-aligned professional to serve as Assistant Athletic Director. This individual will support the Athletic Director in the day-to-day administration of the athletic department with key responsibilities in event management media relations operational logistics and compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for student-athlete development excellence in communication and a commitment to Catholic values.
Key Responsibilities
Game & Event Operations
- Serve as site director for select home contests and postseason events coordinating officials security concessions parking and setup/teardown.
- Lead select game-day operations managing logistics for teams officials and crowd.
- Coordinate logistics for special events (e.g. National Letter of Intent signings senior nights and award banquets).
- Coordinate team photo sessions and assist in organizing media days.
Compliance & Clearance
- Monitor student-athlete eligibility and athletic clearance using Final Forms (or equivalent).
- Ensure coach credentialing is up to date (CPR/First Aid NFHS Safe Environment Training).
- Work with coaches on overnight/out-of-town travel to ensure compliance with Diocese and AIA protocols.
Communications & Media
- Oversee and update all athletic department social media accounts and ensure alignment with the schools mission.
- Manage content creation including photos video highlights livestreaming and digital ticketing.
Scheduling & Coordination
- Collaborate with Director of Athletics to schedule facilities and coordinate with teams and coaches as needed.
- Coordinate transportation and practice schedule needs for teams weekly.
- Send weekly operations emails for officials and opponents.
- Recruit and assign parent and staff volunteers for game operations and events.
Administrative & Department Support
- Assist with the recruitment and selection of coaches.
- Perform data entry for team rosters results and schedules on AIA MaxPreps and school platforms.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree or 5 years in athletic administration preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication writing and public relations.
- Proficiency in Final Forms (or similar) Microsoft Office and design tools (e.g. Canva Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; must be able to work evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to promoting a Catholic school identity and fostering the spiritual and personal growth of student-athletes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and transport equipment (up to 25 lbs).
- Set up tables bleachers signage or other event logistics.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
