Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast affordable broadband to a wide range of customers including consumers businesses government agencies and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
This position defines Privacy compliance and Trust obligations and drives large cross functional implementation initiatives at Kuiper. This includes working with a large set of business and technical leaders as well as central Privacy functions at Devices and engineering tools to build both processes and tools to raise the Privacy bar.
This role is inherently cross-functional and requires a strong ability to influence others - you will work closely with teams across the company including Legal PR Public Policy engineering and business owners. You must be able to effectively partner to deliver privacy goals including continually improving the corresponding processes and technology and trusted to operate with independence.
Key job responsibilities
You will leverage your deep trust and privacy experience to drive large-scale efforts that solve significant problems. You will decompose complex privacy processes into straight-forward solutions often inventing new ones. We are looking for a critical thinker who is also technically adept and thrives on solving challenges in partnership with teams across Kuiper and Devices. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity thats higher than many programs and display high levels of bias for action earning trust and ownership.
This position will be responsible for the following activities:
* Identifying and driving compliance to global privacy-related regulations policies and customer promises across all of Amazon.
* Creating clear guidance for developers product managers and other Amazonians to understand applicable Privacy controls and steps to manage compliance.
* Partnering with legal public policy public relations and other teams to identify emerging Privacy-related regulatory market or other compliance needs.
* Deep diving existing strategic solutions and implementations to enable Amazon teams to meet Compliance controls.
* Working with product and engineering teams on development of new privacy tools to enable compliance at scale.
* Developing and effectively communicating Privacy policies and standards.
* Driving effective teamwork communication collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.

A day in the life
This role requires Privacy thought leaders that love Privacy and solving complex problems with a large and diverse set of colleagues. You will work with legal and public policy teams to stay abreast of the Privacy landscape. You will then prioritize key initiatives to drive across Amazon creating clear and simple guidance and identifying the in-scope stakeholders and necessary compliance tools. You will then create and execute action plans to drive compliance while reporting to executive management on progress. This job is located in Redmond WA.
- 6 years of team management experience
- Bachelors degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- 3 years experience in trust and privacy
- Experience as a product manager or owner

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $178100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $307900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
