Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Project Manager for the Office of Career Readiness is responsible for overseeing and coordinating initiatives and projects that advance career readiness programs and services for students across the state. This role will lead the planning implementation and evaluation of career-focused education initiatives working closely with internal teams educational institutions industry partners and community stakeholders. The Project Manager ensures that projects meet objectives aligned with state education policies support workforce development and prepare students for successful career pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning execution and delivery of projects related to career readiness initiatives including career pathways development work-based learning programs and industry partnerships.
  • Collaborate with schools districts higher education institutions and workforce development agencies to coordinate project activities.
  • Develop project plans timelines budgets and resource allocations ensuring alignment with the Offices strategic goals.
  • Monitor project progress identify risks or barriers and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Streamline internal processes and improve operational systems.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and updates for stakeholders including department leadership and external partners.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams to support successful project outcomes.
  • Support the evaluation and continuous improvement of career readiness programs using data-driven insights.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal education policies funding requirements and reporting standards.

This position is located in the Office of Career Readiness.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Bachelors degree and experience in education management or business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Education Public Administration Business Administration Workforce Development or a related field required.
  • Masters degree in Education Leadership or Project Management is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP CAPM or related project management credentials or experience are a plus.
  • Proven experience managing projects within education workforce development or related public sectors.
  • Strong understanding of career readiness frameworks K-12 education systems and workforce development initiatives.
  • Excellent communication collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools.
  • Strong organizational problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
