JOB TITLE: Project Management Reporting and Learning Management Consultant

DURATION: 4 Months (extendable)
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
WFP works to build the resilience of the most vulnerable by tackling the nexus between food and nutrition insecurity shocks and stressors and aggravating factors such as land degradation. In collaboration with governments and partners WFP works to protect rebuild strengthen and diversify livelihoods while simultaneously building the capacities of communities and governments to manage risks. Through Asset Creation and Livelihoods programmes WFP provides individuals from vulnerable and food insecure households with food or cash-based transfers to help them better meet their households short-term food needs in exchange for their participation in asset creation activities that contribute to building longer term food security and/or the restoration of community services.
In 2023 WFP directly assisted more than 8.5 million people with Asset Creation and Livelihoods across 47 countries. The core areas of work for the Asset Creation Livelihoods and Skills Development Team within the Climate and Resilience Service (PPG-R) include the development of corporate level guidance material for Food assistance for assets (FFA) and for Community Based Participatory Planning (CBPP) and supporting regional bureaux country offices and partners in applying and mainstreaming this guidance and enhancing their capacities to scale-up effective programmes. Monitoring and Evaluation of the technical work done and conducting analysis to support reporting on the achievements are among the key activities of the unit.
Under the supervision of the Asset Creation Livelihoods and Skills Development Team Leader PPG-R would like to hire a consultant to coordinate the Capacity Strengthening activities for FFA.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
In particular the Consultant will:
1. Continue to support the Capacity Strengthening initiatives.
2. Administrate/coordinate regional webinars (including more FFA engineering webinar).
3. Organise all communications related to the online training modules with RBx and PPG-R.
4. Maintain and update virtual corporate learning space for NPO training with relevant training materials.
5. Coordinate with the PPG-R WeLearn focal point for periodic monitoring of training progress in the WeLearn platform (how nominated staff members are progressing) and report them back to RB FFA focal points for their necessary follow-ups.
6. Provide support to the Team Leader to manage this initiative (and for other coming training/bootcamp initiatives).
7. Provide administrative support for organizing regional workshops (including bootcamp trainings).
8. Provide programmatic communication and coordination support to the Asset Impact Monitoring from Space (AIMS) team in terms of interacting with RBx and CO reviewing reports communication material and spearheading new programme initiatives.
9. Any other tasks assigned by the Asset Creation and Skills Development Team Leader including procurement process support on LTAs (new and existing ones) and other procurement activities; work on data analysis and knowledge management activities; support to donor reporting activities
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
Organization of webinars bootcamp training and any other similar event supported.
Maintenance and update of virtual corporate learning space achieved.
Coordination with the PPG-R WeLearn focal point for periodic monitoring of training progress in the WeLearn platform.
Support to the Team Leader to manage Capacity Strengthening initiative and other processes provided.
Support to the AIMS team provided.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: An advanced degree related to one or several of the work areas presented in the point above.
Experience: A minimum work experience of 3 years in international relief and development primarily for providing administrative and coordination support.
Knowledge & Skills: Familiar with Food Assistance for Assets and Livelihood Support.
Languages: Fluent in English required; strong functional capacity in a second UN language an advantage.
