The Project:

The purpose of the TasWater Capital Delivery Office (CDO) is to build the capability and capacity of TasWater to fulfil its customer promises for improved service levels by efficiently and effectively delivering an accelerated capital program of works.
The TasWater CDO will deliver:

  • Opportunities for people to grow and develop
  • Economic benefits and growth opportunities for local industry
  • Improved safety outcomes
  • Capacity and capability to transition the program back to TasWater post-TasWater CDO
  • The necessary framework for emergent projects

Your Opportunity:

The TasWater CDO has an opportunity for a Project Manager which will be responsible for planning executing and finalising project(s) for delivery to our client TasWater. A key responsibility is to project manage the accurately and timeously delivery of projects in line with safety quality environmental schedule budget and scope objectives.

The Project Manager will be accountable for but not limited to:

  • Manage complex high risk and/or high-profile capital and operational projects from end-to-end delivering projects in accordance with TasWater CDO plans policies and procedures as well as legislative and regulatory requirements and within time quality and cost parameters.
  • Driving and maintaining a Zero Harm culture and living and breathing the safety initiatives for all team members and contractor
  • Developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Proactively manage and oversee day-to-day operations during the project lifecycle coordinating performance via Project Supervisors as necessary to keep on top of all issues progress budget cost controls including variations and production controls ensuring that the project is undertaken in line with project financial targets
  • Proactively manage the full pre-start project setup process ensuring the initial ramping up phase of all projects runs to schedule and avoids unnecessary delays during project delivery

Our minimum requirements for this role is:

  • Appropriate technical background with experience in multi-discipline complex infrastructure projects including engineering design build & commission operating environment with scope > $10 Million
  • Experience as a Project Management (or similar senior level) experience preferably within Water industry
  • Experience in estimation costing for projects and working to a budget
  • A high level of business and commercial acumen backed by a sound ability to create read and interpret budgets financial statements and analyse variance reports.
