A Brief Overview
The Division of Outpatient Behavioral Health is seeking a psychologist with expertise in the assessment and treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents. The psychologist provides psychological services to patients across CHOPs outpatient programs participates in the training of psychology and interprofessional trainees contributes to professional development initiatives and presents work at the local or regional level.
This role includes diagnostic evaluations and evidence-based psychosocial interventions for a diverse population of children and families from early childhood through adolescence. Services are provided in individual family and group formats. While the primary focus is on ADHD experience with differential diagnosis and intervention for co-occurring neurodevelopmental internalizing and externalizing conditions is required. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in interpreting psychoeducational assessments and identifying academic or learning concerns.
Advanced training in behavioral parent training school consultation diagnostic evaluations and experience working in fast-paced settings such as academic medical centers is preferred.
Psychologists are encouraged to support cross-disciplinary training (e.g. child psychiatrists psychologists clinical social workers nurse practitioners) and to participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives. Appointees are strongly encouraged to pursue a faculty affiliation with the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine University of Pennsylvania.
What You Will Do
Clinical Activity
Provide comprehensive assessment and treatment services to children and families in outpatient settings.
Communicate with referral sources as indicated.
Meet designated productivity standards.
Present a scheduling template per department guidelines that includes adequate availability to meet designated clinical effort.
Follow CHOP and DCAPBS clinical and administrative policies and procedures.
Ensure practice aligns with standards of applicable professional and licensing bodies.
Function as an independent clinician.
Ensure adherence to CHOP DCAPBS Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
Meet all clinical and billing documentation standards.
Participate in regular clinical supervision chart reviews and peer feedback.
Clinical Leadership (as applicable)
Develop clinical protocols and peer education programs.
Collaborate with colleagues to grow empirically based models of care.
Act as a resource and mentor for clinical staff.
Lead quality improvement (QI) and patient safety initiatives.
Collaboration
Work with DCAPBS and institutional colleagues to ensure coordinated high-quality care.
Respond to consultation and service requests promptly.
Actively participate in committees and initiatives.
Partner with administration to ensure effective patient scheduling.
Attend and contribute to meetings as appropriate.
Teaching
Provide clinical supervision lectures and training to psychology and interprofessional learners.
Contribute to high-quality educational experiences for trainees.
Participate in faculty development activities.
Support interprofessional education and training.
Engage in the dissemination of psychological science at local regional or national levels.
Other Responsibilities
Demonstrate commitment to CHOP and departmental mission.
Maintain compliance with all institutional requirements including licensure continuing education and health clearances.
Participate in performance evaluations and peer review.
Collaborate with internal staff on credentialing and onboarding.
Contribute to community service program development and professional growth planning.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED - Required
- Bachelors Degree - Required
- Doctorate Psychology - Required
Experience Qualifications
- APA or CPA Accredited internship training - Required
- Completed post-doctoral training in child and adolescent focused psychology - Required
- Prior experience in an outpatient academic medical center setting or similar- strongly preferred

$36279.00 - $205640.00 AnnuallySalary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If youre working part-time your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
