Do you have a passion for seeing children learn and grow if so consider joining our team UAFs Community and Technical College is seeking motivated and creative temporary program aides to work alongside the lead and assistant teachers at our Bunnell House Early Childhood Lab School.
The Bunnell House Early Childhood Lab School at UAF is committed to providing high-quality licensed care to children of enrolled university students faculty and staff while providing rich observation and practicum experiences for university students studying early childhood education. The lab school is licensed by the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services to serve 30 children ages 36 months through 6 years. It provides a child centered environment rich in learning opportunities. Developmentally appropriate equipment and practices permit children to make choices within a supportive and encouraging structure.
To thrive in this role you will need a desire to work with young children 3 - 6 years of age. The ability to be creative understanding and patient are all critical as youll play an important role in shaping these young lives.
Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation or equivalent plus some vocational technical course work in early childhood education or a related field and/or formal experience working with age appropriate preschool children.
At minimum 3 months experience working with age-appropriate preschool children.
Physical Requirements: Successful candidates must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. have good vision and hearing as mandated to meet all childcare regulatory and licensing requirements.
Position Details:
The position is located at the Bunnell House Early Childhood Lab School on the Troth Yeddha campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. All work is performed on-site. Hours are on call and are flexible. This is a temporary pooled position which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis. Compensation is at a Grade 76 commensurate with experience.
