Job Description
Quality Manager
Location: Ahmedabad
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Control:
Develop and implement quality management procedures (QMP) and project quality procedures (PQP) for solar rooftop projects.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Generate non-conformance reports (NCRs) and observation reports and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Technical Inspections:
Oversee the testing and commissioning of electrical equipment including LV MV and HV cables transformers inverters and switchyard equipment.
Supervise the installation and testing of various electrical components such as IDT transformers power transformers VCBs SF6 CBs isolators CTs PTs and LA s.
Verify the calibration and certification of all equipment used on-site.
Project Supervision:
Manage the supervision of power and control cable laying and termination UG cable laying and OH conductor stringing work.
Check civil work aspects such as ICR fencing and piling.
Track project activities to ensure adherence to timelines and provide recommendations for process improvements to reduce time and cost.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare quality checklists and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Issue FIRs and punch points for work not executed as per FQP.
Team Coordination:
Assist on-site management to ensure project closure and success.
Coordinate with logistics and commercial teams for smooth project .
Provide remote support and training to customers partner technicians and team members as required.
Material and Vendor Management:
Preparation and revision of MQAP and PQP based on learnings and project requirements.
Conduct material stage and pre-dispatch inspections coordinating with customers and third-party agencies for timely inspection and clearance.
Track issues arising during inspection receipt or erection at the site for early closure.
Audit vendors for performance evaluation and process improvement during manufacturing.
Manage inspection documentation and maintain records.
Performance Analysis:
Prepare monthly quality MIS reports analyze grey areas and recommend improvements.
Manage non-conformance by analyzing issues preparing root cause analysis (RCA) and ensuring overall closure.
Conduct internal IMS auditing and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Basic Areas of Knowledge and Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical equipment with a basic understanding of mechanical components.
Familiarity with relevant IS/IEC standards for equipment.
Proficient in QA/QC and inspection of all electrical and basic mechanical components including PV modules.
Experienced in preparing and reviewing Quality Assurance Plans and similar documents for electrical equipment.
Ability to review material test certificates for material and performance tests.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 Six Sigma skills Cp/Cpk analysis and KAIZEN.
Strong presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) with sound knowledge of MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) and other software tools.
Proficient in using 7 QA/QC tools for RCA and CAPA of issues arising during inspection from the site.
Experienced in managing third-party inspection agencies for stage final and type tests.
Effective in customer handling and communication (both written and verbal).
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the solar industry.
Extensive knowledge of solar MW projects including ground floating and rooftop installations.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
