Job Description

Position Title: General Manager

Reports To: Managing Director

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee all aspects of hotel operations ensuring excellence in service delivery operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of hospitality management and a commitment to upholding the hotel s brand values and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the hotel including front office housekeeping food & beverage events and guest services.

  • Lead mentor and motivate department heads and staff to achieve high performance and service excellence.

  • Ensure consistent adherence to quality standards cleanliness and guest satisfaction across all departments.

  • Collaborate with the finance team to manage budgets financial reporting and cost control measures.

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive occupancy guest loyalty and revenue growth.

  • Ensure full compliance with health safety and legal regulations.

  • Address guest feedback and complaints professionally using insights to continuously improve the guest experience.

  • Manage relationships with vendors suppliers and contractors to ensure cost-effective procurement and service delivery.

  • Utilize hotel management systems efficiently prior experience with Ezee is preferred.

  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to hotel owners or the management board.

  • Uphold and promote the hotel s brand mission and values in all areas of operations.



Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Hospitality Management Business Administration or a related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 6 years proven experience in hotel management or senior operational roles.

  • Strong leadership people management and team development skills.

  • Solid knowledge of hotel operations budgeting and revenue management practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a guest-centric approach to service.

  • Proficient in hotel management software (e.g. Ezee) and Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).

  • Effective communication interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with the hospitality industry in Kampala or Uganda is an added advantage.
