About the Role
Were looking for an experienced and driven Lead Backend Engineer to help architect and build scalable services that power client platforms with a focus on Server-Driven UI (SDUI) implementations.
Youll work across high-performance APIs shape back-end systems from the ground up and collaborate closely with front-end mobile and product teams to deliver seamless dynamic experiences. If you enjoy balancing technical leadership with hands-on development and love working on problems that matter youll feel right at home here.
Responsibilities
Design build and maintain scalable secure back-end services using
Develop and maintain APIs that support web mobile and SDUI clients
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver performant integrated solutions
Contribute to architectural and infrastructure decisions with a focus on scalability and maintainability
Lead code reviews and mentor engineers in clean coding practices and software craftsmanship
Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines to streamline backend deployments
Ensure observability through effective monitoring logging and performance tuning
Work with product design and QA to deliver new features and continuously improve existing ones
Stay across backend and cloud tech trends and bring fresh ideas to the table
Qualifications :
About You
7 years of backend development experience using Kotlin Java TypeScript or similar
Proven experience designing and building scalable APIs and service-oriented architectures
Hands-on experience supporting or integrating with Server-Driven UI or dynamic front-end patterns
Strong understanding of data modelling and experience with relational or NoSQL databases
Comfortable working with cloud platforms like AWS GCP or Azure
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines Git/GitHub and modern DevOps practices
Solid knowledge of distributed systems microservices and concurrency
Great communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Experience transitioning from or integrating with legacy systems (e.g. )
Containerisation know-how (Docker Kubernetes)
Exposure to GraphQL gRPC or event-driven systems (Kafka SNS/SQS)
Background in fast-paced product-led environments
