Our civil/structural engineering team specializing in hydroelectric development and dam engineering is looking for a Civil or Structural Engineer or Candidate to the Engineering Profession (CEP) to join us. With a strong reputation in the field of hydroelectricity and dam infrastructure our energy department delivers multidisciplinary projects in collaboration with major industry stakeholders. We offer a flexible hybrid work model enabling you to work from home as well as from any of our various office locations across Qubec (Montral Laval Sherbrooke Qubec City Gatineau etc.).
Primary Responsibilities
- Design of new hydraulic structures including dams spillways intake structures and associated hydroelectric facilities
- Engineering for the refurbishment and rehabilitation of hydraulic structures and hydroelectric installations
- Execution of design calculations for reinforced concrete and structural steel components.
- Conducting feasibility studies preliminary designs and various technical assessments
- Stability analyses of dams and diverse hydraulic structures in line with regulatory and industry standards
- Safety evaluations of dam structures adhering to provincial and national safety frameworks
- On-site inspections of hydraulic and hydroelectric infrastructure
- Engineering input for the preparation of technical plans and specifications
- Participation in the analysis and optimization of construction methodologies
- Involvement in cost estimation and budgeting for infrastructure projects
- Providing technical support during construction phases both remotely and through site visits
- Supporting teams of engineers and technicians in both design and implementation stages
- Contributing to multidisciplinary technical coordination and overall project management
Qualifications :
- University Degree in Civil Engineering
- Proven experience in civil/structural engineering
- Experience in the hydroelectric and dam sector (an asset)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design (primarily in concrete and steel structures)
- Membership with lOrdre des ingnieurs du Qubec (OIQ) or eligible for registration
- Fluency in French both spoken and written
- Proficiency in English both oral and written within a professional context to support national-level project communication (an asset)
- Strong sense of autonomy initiative and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team
