RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions
- Provide academic advising services to HutchCC Early College high school students in academic/CTE program areas.
- Utilize multiple contact management delivery systems (e.g. virtual text call chat face to face email and/or other) and document student communications accordingly.
- Establish a consistent schedule to deliver onsite advising services at area high schools through the Early College program.
- Assess students utilizing college adopted assessment tools and verify student enrollments; checking that all pre-requisites are met.
- Facilitate a seamless transition to college systems including career and transfer services student access portal and degree plans.
- Implement retention procedures including a variety of intervention activities.
- Maintain resource materials for current and prospective students about HutchCC and academic programs related to advising and career paths.
- Evaluate the need and recommend additional course offerings at area high school locations.
- Meet with groups and individual students high school staff and dual-credit instructors to establish relationships that foster collaborative partnerships.
- Assist with HutchCC application processes for college admission academic programs scholarships and graduation.
- Serve on HutchCC committees and/or task forces assigned.
- Arrive on time for work attend work regularly and successfully complete the requirements of the position.
- Comply with HutchCC policies procedures and practices including maintaining confidentiality and appropriate documentation.
Secondary
- Participate as a member of the Outreach Center Team.
- Assist with other Early College processes and programs within the high school.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Outreach with input from the Director of Advising & Career Development.
- Travel to other HutchCC locations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree required masters preferred.
- Academic advising or related experience preferred.
- The ability to work with students with varied needs.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with students faculty staff and others.
- Computer literacy including spreadsheets word processing and presentation software is preferred.
- Valid Kansas Drivers License required.
- Complete and maintain HutchCC Academic Advising certification.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time; excellent verbal written and listening skills; exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer and to operate additional office equipment; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; attentive to detail accurately follow written and verbal instructions work independently; sedentary/indoor work environment with a substantial amount of keyboarding required

SALARY and STATUS:
The salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by the HutchCC administration. This full-time administrative staff position is 12 months annual benefit eligible at-will and exempt. This position is located in Reno County.
HutchCC CSA Job Description Addendum:
- Satisfy the duties of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) relating to Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) by:
- Promptly reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes to the designated HutchCC official(s) in accordance with applicable laws policies and procedures;
- Completing any HutchCC provided CSA training regarding campus safety and crime reporting issues;
- Assisting in the issuance of timely warnings and emergency notifications in accordance with applicable laws policies and procedures;
- Serving as a resource to students employees and others regarding crime prevention reporting and victim assistance; and
- Collaborating with the Coordinator of Campus Safety the Coordinator of Equity & Compliance and the Director of Human Resources regarding campus safety and compliance issues.
- A professional counselor as designated by HutchCC and whose official responsibilities include providing mental health counseling to members of the HutchCC community may be exempt from reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes when functioning within the scope of the counselors license or certification.
