Manager Engineering Services

This role is managing engineering deliverables (Specification / offer support General Arrangement drawings Fabrication drawings data sheets etc. utilizing fully Engineering service partners (contract houses) for all JC product lines as planned time to time covering all strategic and non-strategic projects for global engineering centers.

Scope: Pre and post order engineering execution EMEAA and Americas using outsourced engineering support.

This position will report to Director GEC Pune.

Location: Pune India

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Supervisors / small CAD Team for Global Engineering Center including engineering service provider contract engineers support.
• Ensure job management compliance and delivery as per SLA.
• Manage large group of contract engineers output using engineering services support and help them for right capacity planning job scheduling to get quality output of system engineering.
• Accountable for overall Engineering KPI s and focus on OTD and Quality metrices for the work done by Engineering services contract engineers.
• Monitor contract implementation manage changes resolve disputes and conduct regular performance compliance reviews.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships based on trust and effective communication.
• Provide regular performance reports to senior leadership using data-driven insights.
• Training & developing of empowered contract engineering team as appropriate.
• Working directly with all internal stakeholders and align with them on Engineering Service Level to meet their expectation.
• Support and implement all standardization and automation projects driven by Engineering Solutions Team to drive engineering excellence and increased productivity to improve efficiency. 
• Use I- Project JC job management tool for seal system engineering as a global tool to track the engineering deliverables.
• Responsible for on time submission of Engineering documents for customer approval advance procurement manufacturing drawings to operations as prioritized by Operation / Contract Manager / Project Managers.
• Distil best practices for achieving growth and help replicate best practices on a worldwide basis.
• Track teams KPI and achieve Priority Action list projects.

Design / document support needed for the following GEC teams:

• WS GWSP project team
• WSS Pre and post order team EMEAA and Americas
• GSS Pre and post order team
• Coupling
• Wet seal etc.

Additional duties and responsibilities will vary based upon company needs.

Key Accountabilities:

• On-time engineering deliverables with zero defect working closely with internal stakeholders and Engineering service partners.
• Accountable for the complete ownership of engineering deliverables catering to our GEC engineering teams by providing on time support to respective Team leaders and managers.
• Should evaluate Engineering service partners performance with respect to KPIs and support to enhance their skills and Training of contract employees with the help of internal JC engineering trainers.
• SES deployment across contract house onsite / offsite contract team support contract team billing).
• Ensure increase in productivity / efficiency using any advanced tools deployment to drafting team use of Standardization etc.

Qualifications :

Position Requirements (Technical Knowledge Skills and Abilities):

• A Bachler or masters degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (Mechanical / Chemical/Instrumentation) with 15 years experience in engineering or similar functions.
• Strong Project management skills and prior experience handling Engineering deliveries using service providers support will be preferable.
• At least 10 year engineering experience with at least 5 years of Supervisor / team leader experience.
• Domain knowledge in process equipment and seal systems in Polymer Pharmaceutical Chemical Aerospace Refinery and Turbomachinery areas.
• Working knowledge of how the mechanical seal business and markets work and how to create growth through engineering processes and products.
• Good understanding of engineering process needs in design and operations key business drivers and industry practices.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate strategies and drive a coordinated action plan.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to prioritize and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work in a deadline driven work environment attention to detail and multitasking are essential.
• An ability to work in an international environment with functional teams spread over various regions including corresponding willingness to limited travel.
• Self-starter and highly motivated to achieve results with limited direct supervision.
• Excellent people skills and proven ability to lead a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English a proficiency in MS Office.
• Should be able to travel as needed 20%.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience in Oil & gas industries.
• Good understanding of P&ID 3D Assembly / 3D Part modelling / 2D Draft environments preferably in Solid edge.
• Application and detailed engineering knowledge of mechanical seal support systems (API Piping Plans) or similar fluid control systems products (like Lube oil Consoles or Oil Lubricating Systems or Pre-jacking systems High Pressure-Low pressure systems or Filtration units etc.) for applications in Oil & Gas Chemical Petrochemical Power Steel industries.
• Good knowledge in interpretation and compliance of project specification from OEM EPC and End user will be added advantage.
• Experience in selection and release of purchase specifications (Datasheets) of field measurement instruments like Pressure Level and Temperature gauges transmitter etc.
• Working knowledge with API 682 API 610 API 614 ASTM/ASME piping and pressure vessels standards are preferable.
• Supervisory or Co-ordination experience with engineering teams / engineering service providers preferable.
• Should be committed to very high levels of customer service and collaborate with various inter departments.
• Exposure to automation will be an added advantage.
