Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team in Pulborough United Kingdom. As a chef in our kitchen you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and kitchen operations.

Shift pattern off 4 working days followed by 4 days off on a rolling basis.

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards maintaining consistency and quality
  • Manage and organise your designated station ensuring cleanliness and proper stock levels
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop innovative menu items and improve existing dishes
  • Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations throughout the kitchen
  • Assist in inventory management including ordering supplies and minimising waste
  • Participate in quality control measures tasting dishes and maintaining presentation standards
  • Step in for the Head Chef when necessary demonstrating leadership and decision-making skills
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency and organisation of the kitchen

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in a senior kitchen role
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training
  • Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Creativity in menu planning and food presentation
  • Proficiency in kitchen management software
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when required
