Job Description

Matrix Providers is hiring a Registered Nurse- Behavioral Health to provide full-time care to the U.S. military and their families at Kirtland Air Force Base located in Albuquerque NM.

  • Employment Status: Full-time
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position paid bi-weekly.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday. Eight (8) hour shifts or forty (40) hours per week between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Requirements: The Registered Nurse (RN) -Behavioral Health must have and meet the following:

  • Degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent RN degree
  • Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by ACEN CCNE or NLNAC
  • Experience: At least 36 months of total nursing experience as an RN in a direct patient care clinical setting. Experience providing services in psychiatric nursing or behavioral health and wellness counseling for 24 recent consecutive months
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association or the Red Cross. Web-based classes do not meet these standards.
  • Licensure: Current full active and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse from any U.S. state/territory.
  • Additionally certified/certified eligible by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric and Mental health Nurse with 2 years of full-time experience in mental health.

Job Summary:

  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in clinical care quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice by all established policies procedures and guidelines used in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Perform physical exams and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions counseling and education.
  • Administer medications wound care and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Direct and supervise the care provided by other healthcare professionals.
  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergencies.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans/actions for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Perform nursing services as identified in the official Task Order.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
