This position is within the Curriculum & Instruction Department located at the Glenn Loomis Administration Building. There is an immediate start date.

Report to: Executive Director of Special Education
General Summary:
The Administrative Assistant to the Curriculum & Instruction Department coordinates the office activities and works under the supervision of the Executive Director of Special Education.
Location: Glenn Loomis Administration Building
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs administrative tasks and duties related to the Curriculum & Instruction and Special Education department.
- Answers telephone notifies appropriate department personnel of messages and performs similar duties involving contacts with district personnel.
- Prepares and types correspondence such as letters and memos reports forms etc.
- Works directly with Northwest Education Services (NorthEd) to ensure placement of Early Childhood Special Education (1754 and 1755) students consistent with district enrollment practices.
- Schedules prepares agendas takes minutes and coordinates meetings.
- Establishes maintains and revises files.
- Opens distributes or otherwise handles mail directed to the Curriculum & Instruction Department.
- Organizes and coordinates scheduling of personnel facilities and equipment for in-services and other meetings.
- Compiles materials and information to respond to staff parent and community requests.
- Creates purchase orders orders distributes and inventories materials for the Special Education Department and provides support to the Curriculum & Instruction Department for orders and distribution.
- Monitors and maintains the Special Education department budget and prepares budget reports as requested.
- Coordinates and distributes printing jobs for Curriculum & Instruction and Special Education Department.
- Prepares mileage reimbursements and payment requests for the Curriculum & Instruction and Special Education Department.
- Coordinates transportation for students who are ECSE MICI and for those who qualify for ESY.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Skills and Abilities Required:
- College degree and/or previous relevant work experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of computers and technology.
- Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on details and time management.
- Excellent public relations skills.
- Ability to deal with injuries.
- Knowledge of math and accounting principles.
- Analytical ability necessary to gather and interpret data.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to report on a regular and consistent basis.
- Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
- Duties include frequent walking and physical activity as well as use of hands and arms for signaling and light lifting/carrying. Must have the ability to move about the classroom/building and school property including bending pushing/pulling lifting twisting climbing stooping or crouching to complete work-related tasks with and without students.
- The ability to listen and effectively orally communicate information and ideas to a diverse population.

Environmental Conditions:
Incumbents work in indoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels. Duties may be completed in cold and hot temperatures including work on slippery and/or uneven surfaces. Work environment includes working around students school equipment and office equipment.
Work Schedules:
Must be available to report throughout the calendar year on a consistent basis.
