Position Highlights
OJDs Office of the State Court Administrator is hiring an Eastern Oregon Courts (EOC) Technology Support Associate (Information Technology Associate) to join its team at the 7th Judicial District (Hood River Circuit Court in Hood River Wasco County Circuit Court in The Dalles Sherman County Circuit Court in Moro Gilliam County Circuit Court in Condon and Wheeler County Circuit Court in Fossil).The reporting location for this position is Hood River or The Dalles.
In this role you will be part of a regional team spread across multiple courts that works together to provide support and resolution for court technology issues. You will provide technical and project support located out of the 7th Judicial District and will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical customer support for 16 circuit courts in Oregon. To sustain the functionality of the courts you will set up replace remove install configure and triage/troubleshoot (onsite and remotely) equipment such as computers printers networks audio/visual equipment and telecommunications technology.
In providing Tier 1 support you will triage technical issues use the iSupport system for data entry and issue management submit help tickets assist with Active Directory password resets and provide phone remote and written customer service on behalf of the Enterprise Technology Services Division (ETSD) to judges management court staff end-users contractors vendors governmental agencies and the public. You will also install and troubleshoot hardware equipment and software packages.
In providing Tier 2 support you will review support requests for computer software and OJD systems applications troubleshoot to determine the scope and nature of the requests and resolve or transfer problems to the appropriate section support staff as needed. You will submit help tickets with vendors for defective hardware and software document procedures evaluate complex problems related to system and network hardware and software help manage profiles and passwords and address implications to the overall system. You will also monitor system hardware and software for EOCs and proactively notify courts and other customers of necessary maintenance actions.
Part of your time will be spent tracking new changed and removed inventory completing Property Disposition Requests and reporting outcomes and your recommendations to ETSD management and local court management.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
This position will directly report to the EOC Regional Support Supervisor and be under the charge of the ETSD Infrastructure Manager. We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have a bachelors degree in computer science information technology management public administration or a related field.
AND
Three (3) years of technical experience in the duties and infrastructure support required for the position.
OR
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to seven (7) years of experience that support the knowledge skills and abilities for the position.
Special Qualifications

You must have a current drivers license in good standing an acceptable driving record and the ability to obtain a drivers license in Oregon in order to operate an Oregon Department of Administrative Services-owned motor pool vehicle for work travel.
Requested Skills and Attributes

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 3 and above preferred.
Experience engaging in support using remote means.
Experience with iSupport Help Desk Software.
Experience with desktop and laptop maintenance and support.
Experience installing and configuring Windows OS in a business setting.
Experience installing configuring and troubleshooting network-based printers.
Experience installing configuring and troubleshooting desktop peripherals.
Experience installing configuring and troubleshooting Office 365 on desktops and laptops.
Experience with processes and procedures with courthouse IT.
Experience communicating technical issues to a variety of users and user levels.
Skill presenting information clearly and logically orally and in writing.
Knowledge of methods and procedures for designing developing monitoring and maintaining applications.
Experience identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Experience evaluating system efficiency and suggesting improvements.
Experience managing simple-to-moderately-complex projects from start to finish. This includes prioritizing urgent matters along with project objectives.
Skill in providing strong customer service in person over the phone by email and over chat.
Ability to work independently or under minimal supervision.
Experience with Active Directory is preferred.
Working knowledge of court audio/visual technology is preferred.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position and the work schedule is currently 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per workweek.
Occasional after-hours overtime or weekend work may be required.
Frequent communication on task directives with team supervisor and team lead.
Must be able to follow rules and policies set forth by the OJD/ETSD.
Frequent travel between worksites located within the 7th Judicial District and occasional travel to Salem and other Oregon circuit courts that are part of the Eastern Oregon Courts region which requires operating a state-owned motor pool vehicle. Travel in inclement weather may be required.
This position works on-site and is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.
Often works with extremely tight deadlines to resolve issues quickly and to address situations that could have high impact on the courts and their customers. This can include being called to diagnose and/or repair technical equipment that if not working significantly impacts business operations. Restoring business operations is critical and can be stressful. Being able to urgently shift assignments to resolve a business-critical need is crucial to this position.
