About the Opportunity
Our Calgary office is looking to add an experienced Stormwater Engineer to our Community Development practice. Stormwater engineering is a key part of building sustainable resilient communities. In this role youll bring your experience to a collaborative team of planners engineers and environmental specialists and act as a strategic thinking partner. Youll contribute to complex community-focused projects while continuing to develop your expertise alongside industry-leading professionals. Coupled with the diverse learning and project experience opportunities do you see yourself excited to contribute to
- Providing accurate and timely input on technical reports plans and studies such as Master Drainage Plans Pond Reports Pond Construction Drawings and Stormwater Management Reports.
- Leading project teams by focusing on strong relationships and prioritizing the wellbeing and growth of colleagues project leaders and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Championing best practices and elevating the quality and consistency of engineering deliverables across projects.
- Connecting with municipalities provincial regulators and other stakeholders to secure project approvals.
- Communicating through various professional media including technical writing policy writing negotiation and public engagement.
- Enhancing your stormwater skills and furthering your understanding of best practices regulations design criteria and processes/equipment/technologies.
- Reviewing and mentoring peers and colleagues on stormwater modeling using tools commonly used in the Calgary region (PCSWMM SWMHYMO DFASCC etc.).
About You
Our ideal candidate is registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or an equivalent provincial or territorial association and has at least 12 years of experience in stormwater/water resources and/or community development. A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.

- You have professional experience in all aspects of stormwater management including master drainage planning design of stormwater facilities and infrastructure stormwater analysis and modelling using a variety of modelling tools.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication coupled with advanced technical report writing skills.
- You are energized and adaptable. You are able to balance requests from multiple sources and work within timelines.
- You take personal pride and accountability in delivering high-quality work for our clients.
- You enjoy working without boundaries and are open to finding diverse and unexpected solutions to problems and challenges.

- You are willing to travel to project sites throughout Western Canada on occasion.
