Role/ Department: Senior Compensation Consultant/Global Compensation

We are seeking a Senior Compensation Consultant to join our Global Compensation team with a dedicated focus on global compensation consulting. This strategic advisor will partner closely with HR Business Partners and senior business leaders to design implement and optimize compensation programs that attract motivate and retain top talent in highly competitive markets.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
Serve as the primary compensation advisor for the Technology and Finance groups understanding their business strategies and workforce dynamics.
Develop recommend and implement compensation strategies including base salary structures incentive programs job evaluations and market benchmarking.
Conduct complex compensation analyses such as retention risk assessments and modeling for merit and bonus planning.
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition HRBPs and business leaders to provide guidance on compensation offers promotions and internal mobility.
Monitor market trends and conduct regular benchmarking to ensure Northern Trust remains competitive in global labor markets.
Support the annual year-end compensation planning cycle including merit incentive and equity planning for assigned business units.
Assist in the development and refinement of global compensation policies and frameworks to ensure compliance and alignment with business goals.
Partner with finance and legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance (e.g. FLSA SEC disclosures pay transparency laws).
Contribute to compensation-related projects such as job architecture initiatives career pathing and the integration of new compensation tools and systems.


Skills/ Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Finance Business Administration or related field; Masters or professional certification (CCP) preferred.
7 years of experience in compensation financial services organizations preferred.
Strong knowledge of compensation theory market pricing incentive plan design and relevant regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with compensation tools (e.g. Workday or similar).
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights and actionable recommendations.
Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management and consulting skills.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working in a dynamic global matrixed environment.


Working Model: Hybrid (#LI-Hybrid)
We have a balanced hybrid working model to ensure you get the flexibility you need and the successful candidate will spend their time between working in the office and working from home.

Salary Range:

$95600 - 162400 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension) health and welfare benefits (medical dental vision spending accounts and disability) paid time off parental and caregiver leave life & accident insurance and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
