Position Description:
We are looking for a Professional Landscape Architect to join our Community Design Team to improve infrastructure in our Detroit or Grand Rapids MI office. The candidate must have Professional Landscape Architect license a bachelors degree in landscape architecture and have at least ten years of related experience with a strong design background. The candidate must also be self-motivated work well with others and have excellent writing organizational and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.Typical responsibilities include:
Typical responsibilities include:
- Perform technical design of job (urban design public space design land development
- recreation projects etc.) from schematic design through construction document phase
- Develop design plans for urban planning park and urban design projects
- Articulate ideas through hand sketching and delineation
- Perform the required evaluation selection and modification of standard techniques
- procedures and criteria to meet the project needs
- Prepare renderings maps and report graphics
- Perform site analysis
- Prepare construction documents
- Assist in master plan analysis
- Assist in writing proposals and technical presentations
- Deliver presentations at public meetings
- Research existing land use
- Prepare project specifications
- Research and complete permits as necessary
- Estimate construction costs
- Document design changes and communications
- Attend council or commission meetings
- Observe work in progress on-site as needed
- Prepare design cost estimates
- Prepare project status reports
- Attend various meetings (client pre-design pre-construction staff public etc.)
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture required
Skills/Experience:
- 10 years of related experience required
- Professional Landscape Architect (RLA) or equivalent license required
