This role is responsible for managing the entire SMT process from stencil printing to reflow soldering and inspection while driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage SMT manufacturing processes including stencil printing pick-and- place reflow soldering AOI and SPI.
- Ensure efficient PCB assembly including through-hole and mixed-technology assembly conformal coating and soldering techniques.
- Optimize OEE by reducing defects improving yield and enhancing line efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis on SMT defects (e.g. tombstoning solder bridging voids).
- Ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 IPC-J-STD-001 ISO 9001 and other quality standards.
- Oversee SMT machine operations including (eg. Fuji Yamaha ASM Panasonic SMT lines reflow ovens and wave soldering equipment.
- Manage Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor and control production.
- Lead and mentor SMT engineers technicians and operators fostering technical growth and innovation.
- Collaborate with design production quality and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Set KPIs conduct performance reviews and implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (5S Kaizen DMAIC) principles.
- Oversee NPI processes ensuring smooth transitions from prototype to mass production.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to source SMT materials ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience in SMT manufacturing with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in SMT equipment programming troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing automation and process optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving communication and decision-making skills.
