Job Description
Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our millet-based food product manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will ensure production targets are met with adherence to quality safety and efficiency standards while effectively managing the production workforce and coordinating with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet set output targets.
Ensure availability and timely usage of raw materials (e.g. millets) and packaging materials as per production schedules.
Oversee the processing roasting mixing and packaging operations of millet-based products.
Allocate tasks and manage shift scheduling of production team members.
Collaborate with the QA/QC team to monitor and uphold product quality throughout the production process.
Monitor machinery performance escalate issues and ensure timely maintenance and repairs.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in compliance with FSSAI standards and internal food safety protocols.
Implement and enforce health and safety measures across the production unit.
Document daily production volumes wastage downtimes and maintain accurate shift reports.
Communicate production status and performance metrics to senior management.
Assist in new product trials and implementation in collaboration with the R&D team.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and minimize operational losses.
Coordinate with Stores Purchase Quality and Dispatch departments to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background:Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Food Technology Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in food processing or manufacturing (millet/grain-based products preferred).
Technical & Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with FSSAI regulations and food hygiene practices.
Experience in supervising production workflows and maintaining equipment.

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. Proven experience in market research, preferably in the agricultural sector. Strong understanding of agricultural equipment and machinery, particularly tractor attachments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with farmers and suppliers. Proficiency in Tamil and English languages, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Flexibility to travel extensively within Tamil Nadu as required.
