Job Description

Partner Staffing is the "go to recruiter" for difficult important and time sensitive positions in Western Canada. We work with proactive clients who understand the importance of having exceptional staff.


Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client we are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Senior Estimator to join our commercial construction team in Calgary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for mid-to-large-scale commercial projects including new builds renovations and tenant improvements. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methodologies cost analysis and project risk assessment as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers architects consultants and subcontractors.




Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze drawings specifications and other project documents to develop accurate cost estimates.

Prepare detailed take-offs and pricing for all scopes of work across multiple disciplines.

Lead the estimating process from concept to final tender including budgeting scheduling and value engineering.

Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

Collaborate with project management teams to develop project strategies and execution plans.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and advise on constructability issues and alternatives.

Maintain and update historical cost databases pricing libraries and estimating tools.

Participate in bid reviews negotiations and client presentations when required.

Ensure compliance with company estimating procedures safety standards and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

8 to 10 years of progressive estimating experience in the commercial construction sector.

Post-secondary education in Construction Management Engineering or related field.

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Timberline Sage Estimating Bluebeam PlanSwift).

Solid understanding of local construction costs labour markets and trade practices.

Strong organizational analytical and communication skills.

Ability to lead multiple estimates simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.

Membership in or eligibility for associations such as PQS CIQS or Gold Seal certification is considered an asset.

Requirements Minimum 4 years onsite construction experience Minimum 3+ years of continuous superintendent or supervisory role experience (in construction field) Strong working knowledge of current construction methods, drawings, specifications and building codes Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employment and other designated information Self-motivated, creative thinking, organized, and efficiency Excellent Good oral and written communication skills Ability to effectively manage time, responsibilities and priorities Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership and team building skills Level 1 (minimum) First Aid certification and knowledge of (WHMIS) Systems Budgeting and estimating skills (computer word processing and spreadsheet programs an asset) Proficient with computers, multifunctional processing units, telephones and faxes Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and skills in data entry Valid driver's license
