ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN FINANCE BOARD
The Campaign Finance Board is a nonpartisan independent city agency that empowers New Yorkers to have a greater impact on their elections. Our mission is to make local democracy more open transparent and equitable by removing barriers to participation.
We make it easier for New Yorkers to vote meaningfully support candidates for city office and run for office themselves. NYC Votes our voter engagement initiative meets people where they are to share trustworthy election information and help New Yorkers make a plan to vote. We publish the citywide Voter Guide which delivers information about candidates directly to voters doors. Our public matching funds program ensures small contributions can make a big difference allowing regular people to run for office by relying on the support of other regular people not just wealthy donors and special interests. And we lift the veil on how candidates raise and spend money increasing transparency and accountability in local government.
We believe that when every New Yorker is empowered to participate meaningfully in elections candidates will better reflect the communities they serve elected leaders will be more accountable to the public and New Yorkers will have a democracy they can truly trust.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Strategy Products and Innovation (SPI) is a new department responsible for leading the development of new initiatives and driving innovation across the agencys existing products and programs. We oversee and implement the agencys strategic plan and we work across departments to pilot build and maintain new policies and technologies that will support future elections.
The Strategy & Policy department sits within SPI division and leads the agencys strategic planning and policy development work. The Strategic Planning Operations team oversees implementation and execution of the agencys 7-year strategic plan. They help put the agencys long-term goals into action by coordinating efforts across departments tracking progress evaluating and measuring impact and recommending changes to the strategic plan.
The Director of Strategic Planning Operations oversees the Strategic Planning Operations team and serves as a key liaison between the executive team and department heads. This is a new role and the Director will be responsible for building the team from the ground up including hiring and managing at least three new staff members. This role requires a strong strategic mindset data fluency and collaborative leadership to manage relationships with stakeholders across the agency.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic plan execution and internal coordination
- Lead implementation of the agencys 7-year strategic plan and identify additional strategic initiatives that enhance internal operations and agency effectiveness.
- Work closely with CFB executive team senior leadership and department heads to support their teams strategic planning efforts to ensure that all departments align their initiatives with the agencys strategic objectives.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to optimize efficiency and strategic plan execution.
- Make recommendations to change agency strategic plan based on data and measurements of program performance and impact.
- Advocate for necessary funding and resources to support the successful execution of initiatives.
Program performance measurement & process improvement
- Develop and monitor objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure the impact of strategic initiatives.
- Utilize data analytics and research to inform decision-making and improve agency operations.
- Present data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
- Identify inefficiencies in internal processes and recommend program improvements.
- Streamline workflows and optimize the use of resources to achieve strategic objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Internal communication information transparency and reporting
- Communicate the impact of strategic initiatives through internal reports presentations and dashboards.
- Conduct regular internal briefing meetings with unit heads to ensure transparency in strategic progress and alignment of team plans with agency ones.
- Support Public Relations team in developing communication strategies to keep staff informed of strategic initiatives and progress.
Management and leadership
- Hire manage mentor and coach strategic planning operations team staff; identify and support areas for professional development; ensure CFB performance standards and values are apparent through all reporting lines
- Continuously evaluate and innovate on strategies and tactics; foster and encourage an adaptive and forward-thinking agency culture.
- Recommend organizational development changes to senior leadership to align agency structure processes and workforce with strategic objectives.
- Work with People Operations to identify opportunities for training and development to staff to support strategic goals.

ASSOCIATE EXECUTIVE PROGRAM MA - 06939
Qualifications :
A bachelors degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by at least twelve-semester credits (or the equivalent of twelve-semester credits) in accounting auditing business or public administration computer science economics finance statistics graphic design personnel or human resources administration user experience design or a closely related area of study and one year of satisfactory full-time experience in accounting auditing (including compliance or investigative auditing) business or public administration business analysis computer science database administration economics finance fiscal or economic management or research statistics graphic design personnel or human resources administration user experience design or a closely related field; or
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in 1 above; or
Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 above.
