Environmental Permitting Coordinator - Energy Infrastructure Projects
We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Environmental Permitting Coordinator to support the development and construction of electrical transmission distribution and substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to support field surveys environmental permitting processes and the preparation and review of technical documentation.
Serve as a liaison among contractors project managers and clients regarding schedules permitting milestones and requirements throughout the project lifecycle (pre- active- and post-construction).
Monitor permitting processes to ensure updates and compliance requirements are communicated and implemented effectively across stakeholders.
Provide guidance to engineers PMs and field contractors on regulatory and permitting matters as needed.
Engage with local state and federal agencies to submit applications secure approvals and prepare responses in a timely and professional manner.
Offer both technical and creative input on environmental and non-environmental permitting challenges.
Advise clients and internal teams on optimal strategies to obtain necessary permits and remain compliant with applicable regulations.
Support budget and schedule adherence for project deliverables.
Maintain full compliance with organizational and on-site safety standards.
Perform additional tasks as required by project or client needs.
Travel may be necessary depending on project scope and client commitments.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in environmental science ecology environmental planning biology or a related discipline from an accredited institution (must be reflected on your resume).
A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience is required; consulting experience is a plus.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting related to wetlands endangered species stormwater management (NPDES) cultural resources NEPA compliance and local/state guidelines.
Understanding of construction schedules and workflows for transmission distribution and substation projects is preferred.
Strong communication skills-both written and verbal-and the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders including regulators clients and public officials.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-paced deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ArcGIS Pro.
