Primary Purpose of Position:

The North Carolina Arts Council is seeking a dedicated and forward-thinkingGrants Manager for Reporting & Complianceto join our team! The Grants Manager for Reporting & Compliance manages the grants monitoring compliance reporting and data analytics activities of the Arts Council. Records are maintained to meet staff board public peer organization and audit needs and to collect and track information about funded projects in all 100 counties.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Tracks and processes over 1000 final reports from grantees and subgrantees each year. Sends notifications to grantees regarding final reports and receives completed reports. Conducts preliminary review of final reports and forwards to the appropriate program staff for sign off.
  • Maintains the grant database and manages all the active grant files transferring closed files to the Records Center following the agency records retention schedule.
  • Provides information and assistance to representatives from the State Auditors office the DNCR Internal Auditors or the National Endowment for the Arts during agency audits. Updates compliance supplements annually as per DNCR Budget Office instructions.
  • Prepares budget forms and progress reports for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Responsible for the annual final report to the NEA and any grant reporting needed for special funding appropriations or grant funds on a case-by-case basis.
  • Works closely with the Marketing Team and Research Director developing opportunities for grants data to enhance the Arts Councils on-going storytelling and research priorities. Pulls all grants data reports to use in marketing and research; stays up to date on trends in the data that might become a worthy marketing or research priority.

  • Typical work schedule: Monday Friday 8:30am 5:00pm

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Qualified candidates must have or be able to:
  • Demonstrated experience working with grant reports either as a grant reviewer and/or grant recipient.
  • Demonstrated experience with database work logging information running queries and/or reports.
  • Demonstrated experience with state and/or federal audits.
Management Prefers:
  • Demonstrated experience managing a significant amount of detailed information in an organized fashion without errors.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel officials and the public and provide good customer service to constituents.
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in the arts.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
