Autoliv is currently seeking a Design/Product Engineer to develop and manage changes and problem solving for serial production on the seatbelt product line. The role includes the engineering activity required for changes including customer design changes internal product improvements support of commercial change validation value engineering and quality / continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will lead the technical aspects and validation of a design change including drawing updates document and BOM release supplier technical discussions validation plans and reports. The candidate will lead technical teams to support resolution of quality concerns especially those related to design robustness.
The role includes supporting the customer focus engineering activity as the team implements design capacity resource and / or quality driven changes from concept into production launch. The candidate will work closely with internal colleagues with the business team customer and Autoliv assembly plants from various disciplines. This candidate must have a strong engineering background demonstrated leadership skills be a self-directed results oriented professional who can support and influence a team through the product development process. The candidate must understand problem-solving techniques to support addressing production concerns within our plants and with our customer.
A bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years progressive experience in product design or project management within the Automotive Industry.
Exceptional verbal and written communication English & Spanish skills and effective with presentations.
Position requires ability to manage Customer relationships related to product development and implementation.
Results-oriented with the ability to support cross-functional teams and lead the support functions.
