Job Description
Overview
The PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) English plays a vital role in shaping the academic journey of students at secondary and higher secondary levels. This position is integral to fostering a love for the English language and literature in students while enhancing their communication skills critical thinking abilities and creativity. A PGT English not only delivers curriculum content effectively but also engages students through various instructional approaches ensuring an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment. The teachers role extends beyond the classroom as they are responsible for mentoring students assessing performance and collaborating with colleagues and parents to create a holistic educational experience. This role ultimately prepares students for their future endeavors enhancing their linguistic capabilities cultural understanding and confidence. As a PGT English you will significantly contribute to the overall development of students making a lasting impact on their educational path.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the curriculum.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
- Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that promote critical thinking.
- Incorporate multimedia and technology into lessons to enhance learning.
- Encourage a love for reading through diverse literary selections.
- Monitor and support individual student progress and provide feedback.
- Communicate effectively with parents about student performance.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate cross-curricular content.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in professional development workshops to enhance teaching strategies.

Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in English or related field.
- BA/. degree from a recognized institution.
- Teaching certification or license appropriate for PGT level.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of English literature and language pedagogy.
- Familiarity with secondary education curriculum and assessment methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to design creative lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Skilled in utilizing technology for teaching and learning.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
- Experience in conducting workshops or extracurricular activities.
- Commitment to student-centered learning.
- Understanding of diverse learning needs and differentiated instruction.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques.
- Passion for teaching and continuous professional growth.
