Human Resources Representative
Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for an HR Representative at one of our manufacturing facilities in Chatsworth GA. As a key HR support role this position handles employee data entry onboarding benefits support and communications working closely with associates and leadership to foster a positive and compliant work environment. This person will report to and support the HR Manager.
Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge job environment effort manipulative skill judgment safety knowledge and responsibility)
- Process associate specific data including benefits service awards payroll deductions terminations changes in job information or personal information etc.
- Assist associates with problems related to pay benefits FMLA Workday Workforce job changes transfers pay rates attendance etc.
- Coordinate the hiring process by posting job opening in Workday working with Central Employment Center to schedule interviews scheduling physicals completing all new hire paperwork new employee orientation entering information into Workday and helping with the HR side of plant orientation.
- Enter employee information into Workday including new hire information termination information work with the LOA group for FMLA cases.
- Maintain HR files and comply with corporate records policies.
- Maintain payroll data.
- Assist employees with concerns and questions regarding benefits of the company such as medical dental life insurance and 401K.
- Assist with employee appreciation events and awareness activities.
- Comply with Sarbanes Quarterly audits.
- Maintain employee service awards and assist with ordering employee award gifts.
- Provide managers with list of upcoming birthdays and order flowers for bereavement and gifts for employees according to corporate polices.
- Maintain plant phone directory and bulletin boards.
- Assist and coordinate wellness events as needed.
- Assist with employee recognition and diversity.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to personnel and other sensitive matters.
- Work with plant management and production employees to develop and maintain a work environment that supports continuous improvement with regard to safety quality and productivity.
- Assist in keeping HR office in compliance with Records Retention policies and procedures.
Non Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge job environment effort manipulative skill judgment safety knowledge and responsibility)
- Perform miscellaneous clerical task with speed and accuracy with minimal supervision.
- General housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor or plant management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in Human Resources preferred.
- Must have working computer experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and oral preferred
- Must be able to work flexible hours based on production schedules

- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management supervisors and associates.
- Must be able to work well under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to comply with all plant policies.
- Must be able to read and analyze reports and information.
