Job Summary:
The Planning Manager is responsible for ensuring all orders can be produced in a timely fashion by analyzing expect by dates run sizes and volume scheduled. This position is responsible for optimizing the production schedule to maximize volume produced. In addition this position will work closely with the operations finance and commercial department to ensure customer and production planning is accurate.
Job Duties:
Manage and produce weekly production schedule based on customer demand.
Schedule and lead weekly scheduling meetings to inform and address department heads on upcoming production runs.
Partner with the Operations team to work on maximizing line capabilities reduce performance contains to confirm customer demands are met.
Revise production schedules when required due to design changes labor or material shortages backlogs or other interruptions collaborating with management commercial finance and operations.
Contact slug vendors to order and manage slug inventory.
Conduct routine inventory counts of slugs and participate in annual inventory counting.
Work closely with the Commercial team to resolve late and at-risk orders.
Plan production commitments or timetables for business units specific programs or jobs using sales forecasts.
Utilize the Preactor system to input productivity levels order information etc.
Ensures assignments meet established standards and deadlines.
Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions.
Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager.
Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
8-10 years previous experience in planning for production related orders.
Associates degree or higher in business or engineering preferred but not required.
Previous experience using tracking system databased.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to read write and communicate fluently in English.
Work Environment:
This position works primarily in an office environment where using a computer printer fax machine and telephone are essential to performed job duties. This position will also work periodically on the shop floor to conduct inventory counts where exposure to loud noises and moving machines are present.
