Job Description
Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Ocaas Lab is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining mouse colonies.
- Euthanizing animals and preparing tissue.
- Sectioning staining and imaging tissue sections.
- Performing molecular and biochemical analyses.
- Preparing and maintaining common lab reagents.
- Participation in lab and departmental meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent organization skills.
- Must be team oriented personable and able to deal with diverse personalities.
- Must be able to take direction follow instructions and keep meticulous records.
- Must be reliable and self-driven with a high attention to detail.
- Must be detail oriented organized and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of routine technical/functional laboratory procedures.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Work Hours
Between 16-20 hours per week during the summer. Hours beyond summer can be discussed.
