Licensed Land Surveyor - Survey/SUE Project Manager
Virginia Beach VA
Direct Hire (Perm position)
Overview of the Role:
Join our clients dynamic team as a Licensed Land Surveyor and Survey/SUE Project Manager where youll lead critical surveying operations that shape infrastructure development. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities offering the opportunity to manage complex projects while mentoring the next generation of surveying professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan organize and direct surveying operations for construction mapping and utility projects
- Supervise surveying staff and technicians while promoting safe work practices
- Coordinate with engineering right-of-way and utility coordination teams
- Research survey evidence maps deeds and historical records
- Prepare survey proposals and manage project budgets
- Represent the organization in client meetings and industry conferences
- Develop surveying methods procedures and quality standards
- Train and mentor junior staff members
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 12 years of professional surveying experience
- Professional Registered Land Surveyor license (required)
- Strong knowledge of Federal State and local surveying regulations
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts including geometry and trigonometry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Project management and team leadership experience
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
