We are seeking a Solutions Engineer with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. This role requires expertise in welding CAD and a forward-thinking understanding of how automation enhances and transforms entire manufacturing processes. As a member of our sales team you will work closely with the engineering and customer teams to provide tailored solutions that address complex manufacturing challenges. What Youll Do

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand and communicate the technical details of Path Robotics products making informed recommendations to meet customer needs.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for prospects and clients addressing inquiries and providing troubleshooting assistance.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer manufacturing processes including upstream and downstream workflows to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Be an expert in our machine learning computer vision robotics sensors and AI technologies and their applications in manufacturing.
  • Actively participate in customer engagements to assess application requirements and evaluate how robotic solutions integrate into and improve the manufacturing floor.
  • Drive new business opportunities by leveraging a thorough understanding of customer needs to accelerate tailored solution development.
  • Support the sales process from discovery to closure application assessment pipeline management and final delivery.
  • Gather customer feedback to inform engineering teams about potential product enhancements and new features.
  • Lead and deliver compelling technical presentations that demonstrate product value and suitability for solving specific manufacturing challenges.
  • Run weld parameter selection experiments to identify a range of welding parameters (current voltage wire feed speed travel speed etc.) for new customer applications.
  • Partner with robotics engineers to develop rules for automating trajectory generation including positioning the workpiece and robot end-effector.
  • Perform robotic welding experiments to test systems under development such as sensors inspection systems path planning strategies and hardware.
  • Work with our hardware team to fabricate test coupons for application feasibility testing and other in-house experiments.

Who You Are

  • Bachelors degree in Weld Engineering or equivalent experience in related fields working with automation hardware and software.
  • Proficient in programming industrial robotics platforms including Yaskawa ABB Kuka and Fanuc.
  • Background in fusion-based primarily MIG (GMAW) weld parameter development for several metal alloys.
  • Experienced with dynamic robotic welding technologies such as adaptive fill touch sensing and seam tracking.
  • Proficient with manual welding processes including GMAW FCAW GTAW and SMAW.
  • Strong understanding of weld symbology and print interpretation.
  • Experienced with Design of Experiment (DoE) principles and metal additive manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks) and simulation software (e.g. Octopuz MotoSim).
  • Proficiency in ROS (Robot Operating System) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships.
  • Proven experience delivering technical presentations and effectively communicating product value.
  • Adaptable to evolving priorities technologies and environments.
  • Minimum of 25% travel required interfacing and working directly with customers.
