QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school graduate or equivalent required.
2. Associates degree vocational or technical training or five years experience in lock smithing hardware installation and maintenance of door frames closers and security devices required.
3. Locksmith Certification preferred. Welding and fabrication experience desirable.
4. Minimum of five years experience installing and maintaining electronic door strikes/locks electronic panic bars and power handicap door operators.
5. Experience with Corbin Russin Lock System.
6. Valid PA drivers license with approved clearance from MTSD vehicle insurance carrier.
7. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO:Maintenance Manager
JOB GOAL:Provide a safe comfortable environment that is conducive to teaching and learning. Strive to keep all Millcreek school buildings and grounds in the best condition possible in the most cost-effective way while maintaining operational compliance with laws regulations and Board policies.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install maintain and repair mechanical and electrical lock systems lock and key inventory.
- Duplicate and assign keys under the authority of Maintenance leadership.
- Install maintain and repair door and window hardware systems including closers panic systems power door operators and accessories frames hinges latches thresholds and sealing systems.
- Work with security to verify operation and maintain door security.
- Install maintain repair or replace security systems on desks file cabinets windows safes etc.
- Order inventory and stock necessary supplies and equipment for a complete hardware program.
- Keep records of materials measurements and time on each job for future references.
- Work from verbal instructions sketches blueprints specifications or drawings.
- Take proper care of all tools equipment and vehicles provided by the School District.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA DCNR DEP requirements State and Local Codes and District safety standards. Correct or report discrepancies to Maintenance leadership.
- Collaborate with co-workers and follow directions of maintenance leadership or job leader.
- Show a demonstrated interest in continued development of skills in maintenance and care of District properties.
- Assist in the development of district re-keying projects.
- Assist in snow removal of the school district properties.
- Respond to after hour requests of buildings not securing.
- Willing to work overtime weekends or holidays as required by the District.
- Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.
