Job Description

We are seeking a Supplier and Sourcing Manager to join our supply chain team and lead critical sourcing initiatives within the mining industry. This role focuses on supplier strategy cost optimization and category management for both capital and operational procurement. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of mining supply markets and an ability to make data-driven sourcing decisions that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the quotation and cost estimation process for key procurement packages utilizing deep expertise in relevant categories such as heavy equipment consumables and services.

  • Conduct supplier market analysis to assess risks capabilities and innovations; build insights into regional and global sourcing trends relevant to mining.

  • Drive category management strategies to consolidate spend ensure continuity of supply and create long-term value.

  • Support new supplier identification qualification and onboarding in collaboration with quality and technical teams.

  • Lead negotiation processes in coordination with product line colleagues ensuring competitive cost structures and favorable terms.

  • Identify and implement cost reduction and value optimization opportunities across sourcing activities.

  • Lead or contribute to make vs. buy analyses considering production capabilities strategic risks and total cost of ownership.

  • Evaluate options between using internal manufacturing (workshops/factories) and external suppliers balancing cost capacity and quality.

  • Monitor supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement in collaboration with operations and technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Engineering Business or a related field.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement within the mining heavy industry or related sectors.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in cost modeling and market evaluation.

  • Familiarity with equipment materials and services used in the mining sector.

  • Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Coupa) and MS Excel.

Preferred:

  • Experience with large capital projects or remote site operations.

  • Knowledge of global mining supply markets and regulatory considerations.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration experience.
