About:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Financial Planning the Director of Project Finance is primarily responsible for working with internal stakeholders to create custom lending solutions and arranging debt financings for the companys real estate projects across the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create custom lending solutions for various real estate projects working with internal groups to better understand their objectives and project requirements and aligning them to business strategies
- Build and leverage internal and external relationships to obtain necessary information for various reports and outputs that are pertinent to on-going portfolio and information management
- Develop relationships with various key lending partners capital providers industry professional
- The preparation of financing proposals for lenders (including but not limited to: the detailed financing structure project descriptions lease summaries and corporate summaries)
- Interpretation of financial models/underwriting as well as formatting for bank reporting and loan packages
- Manage a portfolio of loans on an on-going basis
- Managing the loan closing process and engaging counsel for the review and negotiation of loan terms and agreements
- Some administrative responsibility within the spirit and scope of the position such as sourcing and maintaining information managing industry data ensuring documentation is up to date for various projects etc.
Key Attributes:
- Strong grasp of corporate finance theory and real estate lending practice
- Good understanding of the fundamentals of real estate particularly development of residential property
- Very strong financial analysis skills including extensive knowledge of financial modeling and discounted cash flows
- Excellent communication skills able to articulate complex financial and analytical concepts to senior executives
- Ability to build strong working relationships with others through establishing trust rapport and credibility.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce Finance Accounting Economics or a related field
- Additional designations (MBA or CFA) would be an asset
- A minimum of 8 years experience in a real estate lending environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - able to articulate complex financial and analytical concepts to senior executives
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly Microsoft Excel.
