Were growing and looking for a Senior Tax Team Lead to join our high-performing Management Services team! This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both leadership and execution. You wont just guide and develop your team; youll also maintain a portfolio of clients and be deeply involved in the technical work. Responsibilities:
- Review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and federal/state income tax returns
- Directly manage and serve a portfolio of clients while ensuring deliverables are accurate timely and compliant
- Lead mentor and support a team of 5-7 analysts and senior staff; foster a culture of communication ownership and accountability
- Resolve complex tax and accounting issues and support client planning efforts
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
- Assist with hands-on preparation work and actively support team execution as needed
- Manage confidential client information with discretion
- Meet productivity and billable hour expectations
- Stay current with IRS Circular 230 and the AICPA Professional Code of Conduct
- Lead and complete special projects with minimal revision and clear deadlines
- Communicate directly with clients on a wide range of topics
Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of experience in insurance company accounting and/or tax
- 5-7 years in a senior accounting or management role
- Proven ability to balance team leadership with individual client work
- Initiative positivity and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and comfort with ambiguity and change
- Excellent communication skills and high personal integrity
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Word Outlook Adobe Acrobat and QuickBooks
- Deep knowledge of SAP GAAP and IRS Tax Code/Regulations
