Partnership Resources Inc. a non-profit disability services provider in the Twin Cities/West Metro area is seeking an Art Instructor to support individuals with disabilities in exploring the studio arts! We believe that art is for all abilities and have a long-standing tradition of incorporating a broad range of creative arts into our programming.

The Art Instructor will teach Arts Education activities for adults who have developmental and intellectual disabilities in a day program setting. This is an opportunity to use your knowledge and passion to promote skill development build community and empower self-advocacy through creative expression.

This position is part-time non-exempt working three 8-hour shifts per week during Monday-Friday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (24 hours per week). Location is in St. Louis Park. This is not a seasonal position.

Details:

  • Develops plans and implements arts curriculum in conjunction with the Arts Coordinator at our Minneapolis site
  • Adapts curriculum teaching methods and instructional materials to client needs interests and skill levels to promote development and engagement
  • Teaches a wide variety of arts media and topics in a classroom setting
  • Collaborates with community partners on arts activities outside of the classroom setting
  • Collect and document data according to MN Dept. of Human Services licensing regulations grant requirements and PRI standards (training provided in this area)

Compensation:

  • Pay: $20 per hour
  • Not a benefit eligible position but Paid Time Off is provided

Requirements:

  • Actively creates art in one or more media in a professional capacity. Must be able to provide a portfolio as part of the interview process
  • Previous experience teaching activities within Arts Education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of painting drawing and multi-media
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Access and Outlook)
  • Multilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply
  • Must be able to pass a background check with the MN Department of Human Services
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa
  • Minimum age requirement is 18 years
  • Must be able to regularly push/pull/lift 21-50 pounds
  • Ability and willingness to assist individuals with activities of daily living
  • Ability or willingness to learn basic computer and technology skills
  • This position does not require you to transport individuals

Preferred:

  • Degree or coursework leading to a degree in art/art education OR equivalent experience in art/art education
  • Experience working with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities
  • Ability to use personal vehicle for work purposes for example transportation of art and materials to an exhibition
