Contract- 2 Years
Client- Georgia Power
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer I to support the design construction and maintenance of power-related systems. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in engineering design and construction projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external contractors to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply engineering processes design criteria and software applications to support the design and construction of power systems
Assist in preparing estimates and construction specifications
Support the development and review of engineering design packages and ensure quality standards are met
Participate in contractor oversight ensuring alignment with design standards and safety protocols
Understand and contribute to project planning design operation construction and maintenance activities
Use relevant engineering software tools to produce design documents and analyze technical solutions
Interpret and apply Southern Company and industry-specific design standards
Estimate materials and support the preparation and transmission of complete construction packages
Serve as a technical resource for construction and maintenance teams on-site
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical Mechanical or related discipline)
05 years of relevant engineering experience (internships co-ops or early career roles welcome)
Foundational knowledge of engineering principles and industry design practices
Ability to work collaboratively with design and field staff plant operations and vendors
Strong organizational communication and documentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic engineering software tools
Ability to work under guidance apply problem-solving techniques and exercise limited independent judgment
Positive attitude strong work ethic and commitment to safety-first practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Internship or experience in power generation utilities or infrastructure design
Familiarity with Southern Company systems processes and safety protocols
Interest in obtaining an EIT or PE license
