POSITION: Special Services Elementary SpecialEducationTeacher -

Extended ResourceRoom (ERR) (2.0 FTE)

Captain Gray Elementary School

SCHEDULE: 2025 - 2026 School Year

SALARY: Based on the2025 - 2026 Teacher Salary Schedule

QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)

*Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
*Minimum of Bachelors Degree
*Ability to supervise and instruct para-educators or willingness to learn
*Ability to design and implement standards based IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans
*Willing to participate in functional behavioral assessments
*Successful experience with co-teaching model or commitment to participate in training
*Experience or demonstrated knowledge of implementing multi-tiered interventions for academics behavior and social skills
* CPI trained or willingness to be trained
*Experience with special education students on the autism spectrum (ASD)
*Ability to communicate with students using adaptive and/or assistive technololgy
*Basic knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder
*Knowledge of ABA strategies and/or willingness to learn and be trained
*Utilization of data collection to make data based decisions.
*Willingness to share with grade level partners to meet districts improvement plan
*Willingness to collaborate and work as defined by the school improvement plan
*Training and/or experience in SIOP or Guided Language Acquisition Design or attend GLAD training
*Ability to design specially designed instruction for students with a range of disabilities to access general education curriculum
*Willingness to participate in professional learning communities as determined by building

QUALIFICATIONSDESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required but would be useful to the position)

*Bilingual/Biliterate in English/Spanish
*Previous experience in working with students with a variety of disabilities
*Previous classroom teaching experience
*Computer knowledge and literacy
