Job Title:Business Analyst 2 - Applications/Software Development (Configuration Manager)
Location: Austin TX 78751 (Hybrid - On-site & Telework)
Contract Dates: 07/21/2025 - 08/31/2025
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (excluding state holidays)
Pay Rate:$65.47/hr.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Business Analyst 2 with a strong background in Configuration Management to support IT service operations and enhance configuration management practices. This role requires a professional who understands how to align technology with business strategy and can contribute to process optimization risk management and compliance.
The Configuration Manager is a key member of the IT Service Management (ITSM) team and will work collaboratively across infrastructure operations and applications groups to ensure all Configuration Items (CIs) are accurately documented and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business systems and user needs to align with overall business strategies.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
- Oversee and enforce configuration management processes and policies.
- Ensure accuracy completeness and compliance of CIs through audits and verification activities.
- Define configuration identification practices and manage configuration changes.
- Serve as a liaison between IT operations infrastructure applications and ITSM teams.
- Support and maintain CMDB platforms such as BMC Helix ServiceNow Atlassian etc.
- Contribute to the business process reengineering efforts and evaluate technology solutions including cost/benefit and ROI analysis.
- Document and map user needs program functions and system requirements.

Advanced knowledge of ITIL configuration management principles and best practices.

Strong problem-solving analytical and detail-oriented mindset.

Hands-on experience with CMDB platforms (e.g. BMC Helix ServiceNow Atlassian).

Experience conducting regular configuration audits to verify CI accuracy and compliance.

Experience verifying configuration status and ensuring alignment with system objectives.

Proven work experience (3-5 years) as a Configuration Manager or equivalent role.

Possession of ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
Preferred Traits
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment managing both in-person and remote tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams.
