This is a Department Promotional Examinationand is open only to current eligible employees of thePlanning and Community Development Departmentwho have successfully completed their initial probationary period and received an overall rating of standard or better on the last employee performance report.
Examinations:
Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree in Accounting Business Administration or related field. If the major has been in a field other than accounting at least 15 semester or 25 quarter units of college level accounting courses must have been completed.
OR
Evidence of having passed all four parts of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination
OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant certificate will satisfy this requirement.
OR
Status as a senior accounting student at an accredited college or university will admit applicants to the examination; however a Bachelors degree in Accounting must be conferred prior to being considered eligible for appointment. Official notification verifying admission and senior accounting student status in the college or university must be submitted at time of application.
Depending upon assignment incumbents may be required to possess and maintain a valid Class C California drivers license.

Admittance to the examination will require a valid government issued photograph identification. Applicants who are unable to present proper identification must make arrangements with the Human Resources Division prior to the test date.
A background check may be conducted for this classification.
Following an offer of employment you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.
This examination will establish an eligible list from which an immediate appointment will be made at the Planning & Community Development Department.
Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.
