Settlement Worker in Schools
Temporary Full-time - 35 hours/week
Effective September 2 2025 to March 31 2027
Burnaby one of British Columbias most ethnically diverse urban school districts is seeking applications for a qualified Settlement Worker interested in a temporary full-time position until March 31 2027. Fluency in Spanish required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent in related field plus a minimum of one year related work experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated experience with students and families in a K-12 educational setting in B.C. and cross-cultural competency and understanding of child development and youth issues.
- Fluency in English and assigned language(s).
- Thorough knowledge and experience working in a multicultural setting.
- Sound knowledge of negotiation advocacy skills conflict resolution and problem solving.
- Thorough knowledge of immigration policies and settlement issues.
- Sound knowledge of community and agency resources.
- Valid BC Drivers License (class 5).
- Current salary: $35.80/hour.
